Freelance Service

Alongside her daily creative operations, Amanda also works as a freelance grant writer, tutor and writing instructor.

Tutoring: For the past four years, Amanda has offered online and in-person tutoring for academic paper construction, English (up to Master’s level), ESL, college application essays, and ACT and SAT writing test preparation. She also edits and reviews completed papers (all academic levels and subjects) including medical students and law students, and is well-versed in APA and MLA formats. Note: Amanda does not offer paper writing services, but she will help you write a better paper. She’s also a brutal editor and book doctor, so if you’d like someone to assist you with word rearrangement, she might be the one for you.

The Great Grants Background: Amanda has been a grant writer for almost ten years, and has raised over $13 million for nonprofit organizations throughout Oregon. She developed her skills as a grant writer at Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) where for two years she wrote reports and proposals for OMSI’s camps, classes and outreach programs, and worked collaboratively on large proposals for traveling and in-house exhibitions. She then served as Grants Manager for Oregon College of Art and Craft for four years. There her grant writing efforts helped complete a $14.6 million capital and endowment campaign. She also raised funds for special programs and scholarships, including the A. Susana Santos’ Journeys in Creativity Program for Native American Youth and Families. Current clients include Northwest Children’s Theater and School, and the Independent Publishing Resource Center (IPRC). Amanda’s specialties include government grant proposals (federal, state, and local), capital campaigns, program support and development, and comprehensive short and long term evaluation planning. Her grant calendar is currently FULL, but if you’re in need of a grant writer, feel welcome to send an email to inquire about future availability.
